Booked Is Just the Beginning: What Happens After You Book Your Vacation

You’ve chosen your destination. We’ve found the right trip. The important decisions have been made, and your vacation is officially booked.

So… what happens now?

If you’ve never worked with a travel advisor before, you might assume my job is finished once the reservation is confirmed.

It’s not.

For me, “Booked!” is really just the beginning.

There are often months—or even years—between the day your trip is booked and the day you finally pack your bags. During that time, there can be reservations to make, deadlines to remember, details to understand, and decisions that need to be made.

And if you’re already juggling work, family, appointments, activities, and everything else life brings, the last thing you need is for your vacation to become another project on your to-do list.

That’s where I come in.

What Happens After Your Trip Is Booked?

The exact support you receive depends on the type of trip we’re planning together. I don’t believe in sending every client the same checklist and calling it done.

Instead, I stay connected and provide the information, reminders, recommendations, and guidance that make sense for your specific trip.

Planning a Disney World Vacation?

There are plenty of details that come into play between booking your Disney vacation and walking through the gates.

I can help you navigate things such as:

  • Getting started with My Disney Experience

  • Dining reservations and recommendations

  • Lightning Lane planning

  • Transportation options

  • Strollers and other rentals

  • Important Disney updates

  • Pre-departure reminders and information

The goal isn’t to plan every second of your vacation. It’s to make sure you understand the decisions that matter before you arrive—so you can enjoy the magic once you’re there.

Taking a Cruise?

Cruising comes with its own set of deadlines, reservations, and decisions.

Depending on your sailing, I may help you navigate:

  • Getting started with the cruise line’s website and app

  • Shore excursions

  • Dining reservations

  • Pre-cruise hotel stays

  • Travel insurance

  • Dress codes and onboard expectations

  • Important cruise deadlines

  • Pre-departure details

My goal is to help you step onboard feeling prepared and confident—not like you spent the weeks before your vacation trying to figure out what you might have forgotten.

Staying at an All-Inclusive Resort?

An all-inclusive vacation may sound simple—and in many ways, it is—but there are still details worth understanding before you leave.

I’ll help you keep track of things such as:

  • Flight details

  • Airport transfers

  • Resort dining reservations

  • Dress codes

  • Tours and excursions

  • Country entry requirements

  • Important resort information

  • Pre-departure reminders

Because the goal isn’t simply to get you to the resort.

It’s to help you arrive knowing what to expect and make the most of your time there.

Planning a Custom Europe Trip?

This is where the details can really add up.

When your itinerary includes multiple cities, trains, flights, hotels, tours, and experiences, there can be a lot to coordinate.

I can help you navigate:

  • Flights and transportation

  • Trains between destinations

  • Tours and excursions

  • Dining recommendations

  • Tipping customs

  • Country entry requirements

  • Destination-specific information

  • Important pre-departure details

You may be visiting several destinations, but you shouldn’t have to become an expert in every one of them.

That’s part of the value of having a travel advisor in your corner.

You Don't Have to Remember Everything

One of the biggest benefits of working with a travel advisor isn’t simply having someone make the reservation.

It’s having someone who knows what comes next.

Travel has changed significantly over the years. There are apps, mobile check-ins, advance reservations, entry requirements, changing airline policies, cruise deadlines, attraction systems, transportation logistics, and countless details that can vary from one destination—or one trip—to the next.

You can absolutely spend your evenings researching all of it yourself.

But you don’t have to.

My role is to filter through the information, help you understand what matters, keep you informed, and make sure important details don’t get lost in the shuffle.

The Countdown Should Feel Exciting

There’s something special about having a trip on the calendar.

You should be able to look at your departure date and be excited not wondering what you may have forgotten.

That’s why I stay involved after the booking is complete.

I want the weeks leading up to your vacation to feel like part of the experience—not another source of stress.

You have enough to manage. Let me help manage the travel details.

Because thoughtful travel planning doesn’t end when I click “Book Now.”

It continues until you’re packed, prepared, and ready to say:

"Bon voyage."

Looking for a Travel Advisor Who Stays Involved?

If you value personalized service, thoughtful planning, and having a travel professional by your side from the initial planning conversation through your return home, I’d love to help.

Your trip deserves more than a reservation.

It deserves thoughtful planning, clear guidance, and someone who is still there after you hear those two little words:

“You’re booked!”
